Miscellaneous
A portrait bust is a sculptural representation of the likeness of a person's upper body; which includes the head, neck and shoulders and at times, portions of the chest and back. These pieces are normally supported on some type of base, pedestal, or "plinth," (a slab, a block or stone). Mediums most commonly used to make portrait busts include marble, bronze, wood or terracotta (clay). I generally sculpt in clay and each of my sculptures shown here are made from highly fired clay, to form ceramic, and most are later glazed and fired, air brushed, or painted.
